About me:

Hi there, my name is Kim, I am the CSU Chaplain at Newcastle Uni.

I find a real vibrancy and energy in serving as a Uniting Church Tertiary Chaplain, whether it is exploring discipleship with a bunch of CSU people keen to share questions and insights, or offering 1:1 time for conversation about life’s concerns and joys.

What I also find satisfying is responding to whoever walks in the door or lines up in the coffee queue wanting a chat about anything and everything! My approach to ministry is to meet people where they are in life, and to support them in a way which is inclusive, compassionate and respectful of their uniqueness.

When I’m not on campus I work in a Uniting aged care facility as a Pastoral Practitioner, and also visit various congregations as a Lay Preacher. Along the way I enjoy my early morning runs through lakeside bushland, play heaps of music, read lots of different novels, and watch series like The Fall, Godless, Designated Survivor, Touch, and Lucifer, and other stuff that stretches my imagination and explores what it is to be human!
