Chaplain - Rev. Adrian Sukumar-White

About me:

Hi there! My name is Adrian and I am the Uniting Church Chaplain at The University of Sydney, and the Tertiary Ministry Resource Officer for Sydney Presbytery, where I help resource the work of our chaplaincy teams at USYD, UTS, UNSW and the Conservatorium of Music. I have bachelor degrees in both Theology and Engineering.

I’ve worked with Christian Students Uniting as a student, Mission Worker, and Chaplain, and have loved every minute of it! Being a Chaplain a fantastic opportunity to engage with students at this formative time of their lives and encourage them to explore how their faith and their field of study connect and interact.

I love playing video games, soccer, catching up with friends at the pub, and spending time with my wife and my new baby daughter who I’m just crazy about!

Mission Worker - Kathryn Lynch

About me:

Hi I'm Kathryn, I am a CSU Worker at the University of Sydney and the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. I'm the friendly face you’ll see at Bible Studies, social events and O-Days :) I love having a chat with anyone, and especially love hearing people’s stories.

I am a classic Church Nerd – you’ll find me at St Stephen’s Uniting Church on Sunday mornings and Burwood Uniting Church on Sunday evenings. I am also a Lay Preacher, so from time to time I may be at your church filling in for your regular Minister and leading worship or preaching the sermon. I especially love the stories of the Old Testament, with its wild tales of women wielding tent pegs and left-handed assassins; and its stories of men and women who will follow the sound of God’s call to new and unexpected places.

I am studying theology, although I still think of myself as an accountant (let’s just up the nerd factor….), which I was for many years. I sing loudly and sometimes in tune, and I play the piano badly. My favourite weekends are spent playing board games with friends.

About me:

Photo by Connor MalonosHi I’m Gabi, and I’m a CSU mission worker at the University of Sydney.

I have undergraduate degrees in Music Composition, English Literature and Studies in Religion. When I wrapped up my study at the end of 2020, I didn’t want to leave CSU! It’s been such a formative, supportive and exploratory space for me in my faith journey, that I’m delighted I can continue that journey by walking alongside current students.

I listen to a few too many theology podcasts, am obsessed with the Genesis creation stories, and love exploring the intersections between faith, feminism and LGBTQIA+ experiences in bible study discussions. I am a published poet and composer, and I also run creative workshops for CSU students, covering topics such as Creative Writing as a Spiritual Practice. In my downtime you can find me pulling apart my favourite books and movies through a feminist lens.
